Gardens Care Senior Living is proud of our staff. We strive daily to fulfill our Mission Statement (see below). Staff is trained with the Teepa Snow method which is taught by our owner/administrator who is a certified Teepa Snow Trainer. This method offers a positive, safe and individual approach to Dementia Care which many residents face today. Our home also offers many safety features that include immediate notification of a resident getting out of bed, if a resident has fallen, tracking behaviors, wandering behaviors, and sound/light notifications for door bells, phone ringing and other quick timely notifications. Our staff is offered health insurance to maintain health and wellness and improves the stability and quality of employees.
Teepa Snow is an occupational therapist with close to forty years of clinical educational experience and currently holds clinical appointments at Duke and University of North Carolina. Teepa has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, retirement communities, nursing homes, home care, hospice and community settings. She has taught at universities and colleges from associate degree to post-doctoral levels. Throughout her professional career, Teepa has worked closely with clinical researchers in geriatrics and has extensive experience in neurological care settings, working with people who have had head injuries, strokes, and other central nervous system failures. For many years, she served as the lead trainer and educational director for the Alzheimer’s Association in Eastern North Carolina. It is through this rich and diverse career, filled with opportunities and challenges, that Teepa has developed her knowledge and skill.
We build communities of love and support. This love and support includes residents, family members and employees. Service rests at the heart of our mission to provide the very best of care. At The Gardens Care Homes we honor one another above ourselves and serve wholeheartedly. We strive to raise the standard of residential assisted living, being the setting others strive toward and families embrace.
